Buss Capital raises 100 million Euros in equity capital in 2010

Buss Capital raised approximately 100 million Euros in equity capital with closed-end container, real estate and ship funds, thus, more than doubling the issuing house’s placement volume from the previous year. A total of 3,700 investors participated in the seven funds issued by Buss Capital in 2010. In order to support this growth, Buss Capital increased its workforce by 30 percent.

“We were able to expand our market leadership in container funds, which were our bestsellers with approximately 75 million Euros in raised equity capital. Yet there was also strong demand for our real estate funds and shipping private placements”, says Marc Nagel, Head of Sales at Buss Capital.

In 2011 Buss Capital plans to issue additional funds in all three asset categories. The first ship investment fund is being prepared. The fund will invest in a 1,118 TEU container ship, which Buss Capital purchased at the end of 2009 at very favourable conditions. The fund will go on sale in February. “We will continue to invest only in markets that we consider promising based on Buss Group’s own operational expertise”, Managing Partner Dr. Johann Killinger explains regarding the company’s strategy. “We operate with long-term goals, rather than pursue short-term trends. That’s evident in our good performance record – and pays off in the end for us, as well as our investors.”
